Ms. Kamala Thongkorn

Banthongyord Badminton School (BTY) was founded by Ms. Kamala Thongkorn in 2004. In 1992, Ms.Kamala started the Banthongyord Badminton Club and hired a Chinese coach to train her sons and daughter (Mr. Patthapol, Mr. Panuwat, and Miss Kanitsara Ngensrisuk). As ten years went by, the number of students constantly grew, making the courts we rented insufficient to handle them all. Ms.Kamala decided to build a new gymnasium to support all her students, and changed the name of the club to Banthongyord Badminton School, a school approved by the Ministry of Education of Thailand.

The past years has seen the success of Banthongyord which has done Thailand proud by offering it several important medals, such as the 2013 women’s single title on World Championship, the girl’s single title on World Junior Championship in three consecutive years (2009, 2010, and 2011), and the (year) first boy’s single in Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.
